When looking online for a product, take advantage of the trial period available and test out the product before purchase. Once you've mastered your software and you understand the ins and outs of the product, download images while following the unspoken rules of the scrapbooking community. If you truly love a download make sure to give credit to the website that created the images. The same rule applies for copying a layout from an album you saw online or in a magazine. If you copy the layout make sure to give credit to the artist.
Remember, above all, to stay organized. You will no longer have the physical disorganization of supplies like card stock and paper; however it is still possible to become disorganized. When digital pictures are taken, make small notes about the day for later explanations and writing. You can easily go back to the notes and use them when creating pages. Make sure to keep up with albums and do not let them go for several months. Similarly, while there are no punches lying around creating a physical mess, you also want to keep your computer's hard drive tidy.
When it's time to print your pages, there are a variety of options available. Unless you plan on making pages outside of the traditional 12x12 scrapbook page size, or plan on card making, your best bet is to find one of any number of online vendors available to print pages.
